Shoot and Tweet (Day 1)

The goal of this activity was to introduce ourselves to the group with a picture taken outside. I chose this picture because I am terrified of birds and this picture made me laugh.

Gabe's Dilemma. Our group was tasked with creating a video story problem. We chose to create a problem that focused on how much money the city makes in paid parking on a city block in a given day.

IDEAS photo assignment (Day 4)

This assignment challenged us to look at the world with new eyes, from a new perspective. We were to find the letters "R" and "D" out in the world- in cracks, plants, objects, buildings, etc. This assignment has really changed the way I now experience the world and what I notice as I walk around.

Our stop motion video was about how many people think that electrons orbit the nucleus like planets orbit the sun.

 AmazingSTEM narrative (Day 7)

​My goal was to illuminate a beautiful concept within my discipline. I am fascinated by light and the way our minds interact with it. It's incredibly interesting that everything we see is possible because of light from the sun which is millions of miles away.

World of Wonder- Double Rainbows 

The night I was deciding on my world of wonder I unexpectedly saw a double rainbow outside of my apartment. On top of that, I saw the entire arc which I'd never seen before. I was immediately struck with questions:
          Why is the rainbow a semi-circle?
          Can it be a full circle?
          Why does the double rainbow have the opposite color order?
          Do rainbows occur on other planets?
          If so, are they the same colors?
          Do animals see rainbows the same way we do?

TechTip

My TechTip was about how to display summative information graphs using GoogleSheets and how to use the Add-on "Flubaroo" to grade a GoogleForm. 

Display Graphs
While in the GoogleSheet click on "Form" then "Summary of Responses" which allows you to see pie charts for all questions where the answers were chosen from a given list of possible choices. 

Flubaroo
To use Flubaroo, click on "Add-ons" then "Get Add-ons" and search for Flubaroo. In order for Flubaroo to grade an assignment you must first answer all the questions in the GoogleForm yourself and then use your file as a key.
